These stories tend to focus on the traditional Japanese ghost elements as made popular in Ringu and Ju-on, so fans of those films might find these worth checking out. Some stories are also funny, and some are just strange. Overall, an interesting experiment in what makes a scary story effective or not.

I want to go to a really scary haunted house hayride and maybe even a corn maze. Does anyone know where to go that is actually worth the money?

I went to The Haunted Farm of Terror. The house is about 10 minutes and there is a small corn maze connected to it. There is also a hayride that is about 15 minutes long. The house is 15 dollars and the hayride is 15. Combo pass is 22. WARNING the house wont be scary if you go in with more than 3 people

Ideas for an introduction for a feature story on haunted houses?

I went to a few haunted houses, and now I have to write a feature on it, but I’m not sure how to start it. This is what I have so far:
Everyone has been to a haunted house – whether it be a small one hosted in someone’s house, or a big one that took months to put together. Two particular haunted houses near Johnsburg include the Realm of Terror in Round Lake Beach, and X-Treme Hauntings in Fox Lake.
Would that be any good?

Just tell where the various locations are, what services they offer, etc. A local map detailing the specific houses would perhaps be useful, as would an illustration(s)
