How Much Do You Know About Haunted Houses?

I’m writing a story, and want a list of haunted houses, that have scary stories. I have one but can’t find any information on it. It’s The Zakos House in Missoula Montana. If you know any information on the Zakos house or any other haunted houses please let me know, and put the history that you know init please.

What are some really scary ghost stories?

I’m not talking lame, I’m talking real GHOST stories that will keep you up at night scary. Ones that you cant stop thinking about because they’re so scary please help?

I am in my late 30s and now living in Massachusetts where I grew up. I was a middle child of five in a very close family. When we were really young, my two younger sisters and I were always fascinated with the unknown. We would look in the obituaries in the newspaper to see who had recently passed away and we would have séances in our garage with some other local neighborhood kids. Usually nothing would happen, but a couple of times some weird things happened that we just could not explain.

When my sisters and I were in high school, we learned about Ouija boards. We bought one and began to play with it. Two of us would get on it and the other would write everything down. At first it was fun. We talked to several different spirits that told us where they were from and about their families, etc. This went on for weeks, then gradually things started getting a little scary. Eventually, every time we got on the board, the same spirit would come on, who was not very nice. He told us he was the devil and he was going to get us somehow. He called him self "Zozo." When a friend of ours confronted our priest about this name, he got very angry and told us we should not be playing with Ouija boards; they were not toys and we could get into trouble. He gave his Sunday sermon on the subject.

Needless to say, we stopped playing with it. Then, while still in high school, one of my sister’s best friends lost her sister in a van accident. She and her sister were very close. She knew of our adventures with our Ouija board and begged my sister to let her come over and use it to talk to her deceased sister. Hesitantly, my sister sat down with her and contacted her sister with the board. Her friend bawled and told her sister how much she loved her and missed her. She didn’t want to live anymore without her and wished she could be with her. About two weeks later, my sister’s friend died… in a van accident – exactly the way that her sister had died. My sister took the Ouija board and put it out with the trash, and none of us has touched one since.

What are some scary haunted houses in the Chicagoland area?

I don’t want any pussy haunted houses. Im talking actually scary for a grown man. I heard about one in Indiana that was supposed to be pretty good, anybody know what it’s called? Or know any others within an hour of Chicago? Thanks.

You might be referring to Reaper’s Realm in Hammond, IN. This site has a lot of info on haunted houses including ratings and reviews.

I’m going up there with a few of my friends during halloween weekend. We are all 21-24 yrs old, and were wondering if theres actually haunted houses and stuff at night? Everything on the website looks like its for kids. Any input is great, thanks!

If you want to jump on the Salem Pike, spend 20 minutes to run down to Boston, you can try the Hallow Scream Park, 4 Haunted attractions in one, and very scary, worth the drive!

Should these new remakes of slasher films get sequels?

Halloween was origianlly supposed to be a single remake. But i just read Halloween 2 comes out in August.

Friday the 13th was better then any of the originals, and covered the events of 1-4 (more like 1-3).
Now there is a sequel in the works.

I wonder if their gonna mess it all up with a sequel.

I really couldn’t care less about horror film sequels. No matter how many sequels or ideas they come up with, it’s always terrible & always for money. Horror writers don’t think thoroughly. Writing a sequel has to be very well planned & careful. That’s why many great movies usually don’t have sequels. It always has to be a better story line than the first, that should be the very first rule for planning a sequel screenplay. It’s very risky. That’s why I hate horror films/ horror screenplay writers.

The only brilliant scary movie I’ve ever come across to was The Exorcist. The thought that demons are truly real makes the movie horrifying.

Another one is Silence of the Lambs, although it falls in the Mystery/Drama genre. No man with masks, or guns. The spine chilling Hannibal Lector is scary enough. A mere doctor, who doesn’t just kill people, he EATS them. These films, are worth being called true horror films.

How can a fear of haunted houses be faced?

My friend has a really weird fear of haunted houses. He’s 6’5", but he claims to cry like a baby in the face of fear. I asked him to come to a haunted house with me and my friends, and he said no.

I really want him to come, but he says that his anxiety prevents it. How can I convince him to come with us?

*The haunted houses around here are NOT scary in the least bit.

Any opinions will help. Thanks in advance!

What worked for a friend of mine was actually working in one for a night as a volunteer for one of the charity ones. After that my friend was never scared of them again!
