BS Cast: History of Slasher Films Part 17 – (Axe, Drive-In Massacre, and Halloween)

Mar-2-2010

In this part we:

- Finish our talk on Axe (1977) (aka California Massacre aka Lisa, Lisa)
- Mention a gem I saw called “Hell High” (and I’ll go into that one later, in a part down the road)
- Drive-In Massacre (1977)
- We begin our talk on Halloween (1978)
- And we get sidetracked by talking about Howling 2: Your Sister is a Werewolf…just watch and listen…

Efree and I talked for about 5 or 6 hours about Slasher Films…and we weren’t even halfway done…so lol this will be a loooong endeavour. So hope you enjoy as we first talk about slasher films that we enjoyed. And then after a few parts of this we go into the history of slasher films.

Eventurally we recorded the other parts, so it’s a total of 10-12 hours at least of stuff. So it’ll be a long one.

Probably not all but we’ll try to get to most of them since we found a list of them…hope you enjoy.

Gahhh! Top 10 Slashers Films Request

Feb-15-2010

Hello Horror Fans!
*No Copyright Infringement Intended – Fair Usage Act*

Another vid request, This time from MyFairMunster

http://www.youtube.com/user/MyFairMunster

& co-suggested by :) DarkBreed85

http://www.youtube.com/user/DarkBreed85

This video is My top 10 Slasher Films. Again, very hard to choose. Some like Slumber Party Massacre & House on Sorority Row only narrowly missed out being on the list. What I’ll be doing in this video is showing you my top 10 picks, and then some other slashers I really enjoy too. Oh, and this video totalled nearly 25 minutes, so I’ve had to edit it right down. As a result, some of the titles from the end had to be omitted.

For people wondering why Friday the 13th isn’t on the list – I thought about adding it, but decided that there are better examples of great slashers. Also when I compared it other films, it was derivative of some earlier releases (Black Christmas, Halloween for example), and those that were released around the same time (Sleepaway Camp, The Burning) I liked a lot more. Hope that helps explain.

Also, been getting comments about Nightmare on Elm Street – I didn’t included it because I didn’t feel comfortable calling it a slasher film. Another Youtube user put it well, it’s a supernatural slasher, like Child’s Play. I didn’t want to include fringe slashers because if you make one exception, you have to make them all.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

If anyone would like, you could make a video response. :)
