How come there aren’t any good scary movies or horror films?

I hate watching Slasher Films, because its a bunch of screaming and blood everywhere type of film. But, I want to watch a scary film something that will keep you awake at night. Do you think, the movie industry, have nothing to offer but re-hashed movies from the 80’s?

What are some good scary movies or horror films?

Orphan was the scariest, most shocking, most sick, and most twisted movie i have ever seen, it is worth watching

I’ve been a fan of Slasher Films since I was a kid…sometimes I just wished to be an actor of a slasher film…haha…what do you think are you gonna do to survive that day?

My favorite movie is Halloween (2007)….how about you?

When watching these movies, keep note of scenes where a weapon is displayed or used in a phallic fashion. (Many posters for such movies show women cowering before a killer who has his huge weapon dangling between his legs–check out the covers for the "Slumber Party Massacre" series for instance.) Also, when the killer is dispatched, usually by a Final Girl, you will often see that they get impaled–which, symbolically, indicates that the Final Girl has seized the masculine power and turned it against the killer. (There’s a whole lot of Final Girl symbology you can read about on the web.)

Can someone help me find Horror Movies where the people "kill" the killer or monster or whatever but then it comes back??? I’m making a video for wednesday night and I need scenes where the people in the movie think they’ve killed the thing they’re running from but it’s not really dead and it scares them. Please help ASAP!
